Curriculum Night is August 29, 6:00-7:30 pm at Polaris

Please join the Polaris staff for Curriculum Night (adults only), where you will learn about the instructional experience being provided to your child in the 2019-2020 school year. The evening will begin with a welcome to families in the auditorium from 6-6:25 pm. To accommodate families with more than one child, there will be two classroom-based sessions with the same content - taking place from 6:30-6:55 pm and 7:00-7:25 pm. Classroom teachers will provide additional information.

Polaris Grade-Level Parent Socials

Mark your calendar and book your sitter for the annual Polaris parent socials! These casual adults-only gatherings at a Polaris family's home are a great opportunity to get to know other parents in your child's grade and learn more about how you can support our school. Look for an Evite sent to your household's primary email address in the coming weeks.

Collaborative School Committee

The Collaborative School Committee (CSC) is an advisory committee that provides strategic direction to the Polaris administration in support of Polaris's mission and vision. CSC is made up of teachers, staff, parents, and community members. Meetings occur 3:45-5 pm the third Monday of each month (or the following Monday on which school is held), and childcare is available. If you're interested in serving on the CSC for a two-year term, please reach out to the current CSC Chair, Allison Pettersson, at thepetterssons@msn.com.

The Electives Program

The Electives Program is revving up for another exciting year! We need volunteers to teach or assist on these Friday afternoons this fall: September 13th, 20th, 27th, October 4th and 11th.

As a volunteer for electives, you can propose and develop your idea for a new elective class, teach from one of our existing curricula, or assist in your child’s elective class. OR simply consider financially sponsoring an elective taught by a visiting teacher from the community.

Staff Appreciation Committee

Back to School Shopping Through Amazon Smile

Are you or your family members shopping on Amazon? If so, please consider making your purchases using Amazon Smile at https://smile.amazon.com/. It carries many of the same products as Amazon, and a portion of the proceeds are donated to Polaris PTO. Once in the site, go to your account and select Polaris PTO as your designated non-profit. Then start shopping and the site automatically tells you how much of your total purchases will be donated to Polaris PTO.
